Marist Teams Stand Out at the 2026 Rowan Brown Jelly Belly Tournament
What an incredible Matariki weekend for our Marist U12 teams at the 2026 Rowan Brown Jelly Belly Tournament!
Across three days of competition, our players represented the club with outstanding sportsmanship, enthusiasm, courage and teamwork. For many, this was their first tournament experience, while for others it was another step in their water polo journey. Every player should be immensely proud of the way they wore the Marist cap.
Ururoa were outstanding, going undefeated throughout the tournament to be crowned A Grade Champions! A fantastic achievement and a testament to the hard work of the players, coaches and whānau. A special congratulations to Kobi Hornibrook, who was deservedly named the A Grade MVP after an exceptional tournament. Well done, Kobi!
Pāpahu put together an excellent tournament, battling through a highly competitive B Grade to secure a well-deserved third place finish.
Ngōiro also impressed, earning third place in C Grade with a series of determined performances.
Taketonga continued to improve with every game, finishing a very creditable 8th in a large and competitive C Grade field.
Wheke embraced every challenge in the Newbies competition, gaining valuable experience, growing in confidence and showing exactly what junior water polo is all about.
While we’re proud of the results, what we’re even more proud of is the way our players supported one another, encouraged their teammates, and represented Marist throughout the weekend.
A huge thank you to our coaches, managers, referees, volunteers and whānau for everything you did throughout the weekend. We would also like to thank North Harbour Water Polo for once again delivering a fantastic tournament.
Congratulations to every Marist player—you’ve done your club proud. The future of Marist Water Polo is looking very bright!
Go Marist!
